Donate Life Flags Across America

Inspired by an October 2008 email from a Los Angeles-area transplant coordinator, within weeks Bryan led several Donate Life America colleagues to craft Donate Life Flags Across America, a nationwide initiative to rally hospitals, transplant centers and organ donation advocacy organizations nationwide to fly the Donate Life flag during April's National Donate Life Month.

Motivating hospitals to signal the importance of organ and tissue donation and their mission-critical role in the process relied a simple enrollment process that inspired and eased participation. The first year saw 2,000 Donate Life flags raised across the country, powerfully launching the ongoing initiative.

From its genesis as a hospital initiative, Donate Life flags flew above city halls, civic plazas, police headquarters, fire stations, parks and golf courses.
